Work Order Editing - New Rule: Allow work order close with pending material request
A new work order rule was added recently that provides for a bit more flexibility when closing work orders. This rule when applied allows users to close, finish or cancel a work order even if there is a pending/ open material request against that work order. When this rule is not applied, users will not be able to close, finish or cancel a work order until the parts associated with the work order has been issued by the warehouse and the material request is closed.
By default this rule will be active, meaning work orders can be closed even if there are pending material requests agains the work order. To change this, simply navigate to System Settings > Work Orders > under Editing Options make sure the box is unticked. This will force the rule on all users making sure that there is a collaborative effort from maintenance and warehouse staff to ensure requested parts are issued and consumed correctly.
